Eliott Behar grew up in Toronto. A long-standing interest in human rights and criminal justice led him to study psychology at McGill University and then go on to law school.
He began a distinguished legal career as a Crown Prosecutor in Toronto, where he prosecuted complex criminal trials, argued more than 50 appeals at the highest appellate court in Ontario, represented the government on major cases at the Supreme Court of Canada, and worked in specialized prosecution units targeting hate crimes, police violence and corruption, and international crime.

In 2008, Eliott became a war crimes prosecutor for the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, based in The Hague, an experience that became the impetus for Tell It To The World.

In 2013, he moved to Silicon Valley and became Security Counsel for Apple, where he advised the business on issues at the intersection of global law enforcement and privacy and oversaw global investigations into cyber crime and international fraud and theft. In 2018 he founded a global legal and consulting practice that advises on privacy and security issues and works at the intersection of technology and human rights. He continues to work on issues of international criminal law and transitional justice, most recently as an international legal consultant for the Truth, Reconciliation and Reparations Commission in The Gambia and with Yazidi victims of ISIS in Northern Iraq.
